DEEP_MAINTENANCE

Deep sleep phase where ~90% of glymphatic clearance occurs; requires temperature drop and insulin absence.

DEEP_MAINTENANCE is the ONDA concept for the deep sleep phase when glymphatic clearance is maximally active. The system performs critical "maintenance" — clearing metabolic waste, consolidating memory, and repairing tissue.

Requirements

  • Temperature drop — core body temperature must decrease 1–2°C
  • Insulin absence — no caloric intake 3–4 hours before sleep
  • Sleep architecture — sufficient slow-wave sleep (N3) duration
  • Quiet environment — uninterrupted sleep for full cycles
