Circadian Rhythm

Internal 24-hour cycles that regulate sleep-wake patterns, hormone levels, and metabolism — your biological clock.

Circadian rhythms are internal 24-hour cycles of biological processes that regulate sleep-wake patterns, hormone levels, and metabolism. In the ONDA system, this term is fundamental to Level 1 (Body / Terra), as synchronizing with natural light and dark cycles determines your baseline energy levels.

Key Mechanisms

  • Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (SCN) — The "master clock" in the hypothalamus that receives light information through the retina.
  • Melatonin & Cortisol — A light-sensitive balance: melatonin prepares the body for sleep, while the morning cortisol spike initializes the system for action.

ONDA Protocol

  • Light Exposure — Get bright sunlight within the first 30 minutes of waking to suppress melatonin and set the timer for your sleep cycle.
  • Blue Light Block — Limit blue spectrum light 2–3 hours before sleep to initiate the natural recovery process.
