Why does the US ban matter?

In 2025 the US International Trade Commission found that Ultrahuman’s rings infringed an Oura patent. The exclusion order took effect on 21 October 2025, so the Ring Air can no longer be imported into the US. A Ring Air bought in the US today is leftover stock or a used ring, which makes warranty claims harder — a real risk given the battery reports. How accurate are they for HRV?

Both rings read HRV from the finger at night, when you lie still and the signal is cleanest. That makes them good for multi-day trends, not for clinical readings. Neither has as much published validation as Oura. To read your own numbers, compare them with normal HRV by age — and, above all, with your own baseline.
