Adrenal Glands

Small glands above the kidneys that release cortisol and adrenaline — the stress hormones.

The adrenal glands are two small glands located above each kidney. Each has two parts: the cortex (outer) and medulla (inner), which produce different hormones.

Cortex (outer)

  • Cortisol — glucocorticoid, stress response, metabolism
  • Aldosterone — fluid and electrolyte balance
  • Androgens — minor sex hormones

Medulla (inner)

  • Adrenaline (epinephrine) — rapid mobilization, fight or flight
  • Noradrenaline (norepinephrine) — arousal, attention

In ONDA Life

Part 4 teaches the body to control adrenal output. Instead of chronic cortisol and adrenaline release (stress), we develop the ability to mobilize acutely when needed — and return to baseline quickly.
